Originally from Houston, Texas, Jody has been a part of the Early Learning Center family since 1992. Although she began her career in the field of business after graduating from college, she later found that her passion really centers around young children and early childhood education. She brings creative, energetic and entertaining elements to our program. She is cheerful and loving with the children, supportive of the teachers and caring with the parents. Her many years of experience, combined with her warm and enthusiastic personality make her a valuable asset to ELC. Over the years, she has developed and implemented lesson plans in the Early Childhood Education field as a Lead Teacher, Assistant Teacher, and Substitute Teacher. Jody enjoyed the privilege of teaching in the Parents’ Morning Out, Preschool and PreKindergarten programs at ELC. Jody taught the Junior Kindergarten program for the past nine years before being appointed as Assistant Director in 2011. In 2016, she became the Director of ELC.
Jody attends All Saints Catholic Church with her husband, Rick and three daughters, Michele, Nikki and Alyssa. She is an active member in the music ministry program at All Saints as a Certified Cantor and a member of the Contemporary Choir. Jody loves being able to incorporate her love of music and her love of children into an enjoyable mix of silly songs and fun fingerplays that she can teach to all the classes and during chapel time throughout the school year. She and her husband are the proud parents of three daughters – all who attended our preschool.
In her down time, Jody enjoys spending time with her family and her Bichon Frise, Theo. She likes shopping, going to the theatre, and traveling.
